Lillian Leadbetter Releases “Move the Moon,” an Anthem of Impossible Love. An indie folk track written across oceans and uncertainty, recorded in Nashville, TN.
“Move the Moon” is an indie folk anthem about impossible love, written during a long distance situation-ship that spanned an ocean and months of uncertainty. As the connection deepened, so did the question at its core: what, if anything, can we truly control?
Carried by a steady, grounding groove and raw, intimate vocals, the lyrics are ripped straight from the pages of her journal, capturing the tension between desire and reality. It speaks to the longing to have it all, love, time, and proximity, even when it feels as unattainable as moving the moon itself. Beneath that longing lies a quieter question: if we had the power to change everything, would we still choose the same love?
Written to explore uncertainty, expectation and our own internal magic, “Move the Moon” lives in the fragile space between the illusion of control and the absolute power of surrender.

lyrics
Somewhere in the heat of the summer
Your fever broke
I could feel the pulse of your heartbeat in the back of your throat
And I whispered
“Don’t wake too soon my darling
If I could stop the dawn from calling
I would
We don’t need no fancy things
Just the joy that simple pleasures bring
From the evergreen to the ripplin’ tune the warbler sings
Oh if I could move the moon
I’d be with you
Oh if I could move the moon
Standing at the edge of the silence when the thunder choked
Timeless as the words of a lover that were never spoken
Safe in the arms of the covers
Holdin’ tight to one another
Counting down the days to the hours
Till it’s time to let go
Hanging out your heart on the wire through the telephone
Wiltin’ in the face of the flowers
That still bloom back home
And whisper
“Don’t wake too soon my darling
If I could stop the stars from falling
I would
I don’t need no diamond ring
And when a promise is a hollow thing
It’s a heavy weight to rest upon these labored wings
Oh if I could pick and choose
I’d be with you
Oh but then I could move the moon.
